Doosan develops 5G-powered remote control technology




(MENAFN) Doosan Infracore Co., South Korea's top construction equipment maker, it plans to introduce a new technology that allows workers to control heavy machines remotely through the fifth-generation (5G) network.

According to the company, it will introduce the technology, currently under development with local mobile carrier LG Uplus Corp. at the Bauma China exhibition, which takes place in Shanghai from Tuesday to Friday.

It plans to demonstrate how to control an excavator located in South Korea's western port city of Incheon, some 880 kilometers from the venue in Shanghai.

Through the real-time video, Doosan said workers can turn on machines as if they are actually at the construction site, and the 3-D Machine Guidance system will deliver detailed 3-D information.
