5 killed in car-truck collision in Cambodia

(MENAFN) A local police chief declared that five civilians have died as another two were wounded in a crash between a tanker truck and a Lexus SUV in Southwest Cambodia's Koh Kong province.

Police chief of Sre Ambel district, Ma Ty confirmed that the deadly accident occurred when the two vehicles, both in different directions, crashed head-on at National Road 4 in Sre Ambel district.

He added: "All five people in the Lexus SUV were killed on the spot and two others in the tanker truck were injured in the crash,", while the lorry had an empty oil tank when the crash took place.

Fire broke out in the Lexus SUV and the tanker truck following the accident, as the driver of SUV is probably behind the collision, according to the official.
