Bp, SOCAR, And TAP Delegates In Amsterdam Outline Plans To Grow Azerbaijan's Gas Exports


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Representatives ofbp, SOCAR, and Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) presented their visionfor Azerbaijan's gas production and supply at the Flame 2024 gasconference in Amsterdam, Trend reports.

The conference, held on April 23-25, brought together around 300representatives from companies specializing in the development ofthe gas industry.

SOCAR Deputy Vice President Vitaly Beglyarbekov, bp Vice Presidentfor the Caspian region Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, and TAP delegate MariaSavova all advocated for Azerbaijan's interests at thisinternational gathering.

In their speeches, they underlined the development of the ShahDeniz field.

Maria Savova, commercial director of TAP AG, remarked during theconference that TAP's capacity to export Azerbaijani gas to Europemay be increased gradually.

Beglyarbekov mentioned that the first stage of the increase willstart in January 2026 (by 1.2 bcm) and refers to the growth of TAPthroughput capacity to 14 bcm per year from the current 12 bcm.
Meanwhile, gas from Shah Deniz (1 billion cubic meters) is alsoincluded in this stage of the TAP capacity increase.

To note, Azerbaijan has been supplying gas to the EU sinceDecember 2020.
