(MENAFN - UkrinForm) NGO "Public Lustration Committee" filed a lawsuit over the appointment of Andriy Bohdan as the Head of the Administration of President of Ukraine.
"Today, the Public Lustration Committee appealed to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with the demand to cancel the decree on the appointment of Andriy Bohdan as the Head of the Administration of President of Ukraine," reads the statement posted on NGO's Facebook page.
It is noted that Bohdan "held position of the Government Commissioner for Anticorruption Policy, which is subject to lustration, from February 25, 2010 to February 22, 2014, as well as during the Revolution of Dignity and did not resign in the period from November 22, 2013 to February 22, 2014."
The Public Lustration Committee adds that Article 2 of the Law of Ukraine "On Government Cleansing (Lustration)" defines position of the Head of the Administration of President of Ukraine as the one which is subject to government cleansing measures (lustration).
The lawsuit is to be considered by the Administrative Court of Cassation as part of the Supreme Court.
As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Andriy Bohdan as the head of the presidential administration on May 21.
Lawyer Andriy Bohdan worked as the Government Commissioner for Anticorruption Policy in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine led by Mykola Azarov (2010-2014). Bohdan is known to be a lawyer of businessman Ihor Kolomoisky and was a legal counsel to Zelensky during the presidential election campaign.
Meanwhile, more than 25,000 Ukrainians have alreadysignedthe electronic petition for the dismissal of Andriy Bohdan from the position of head of the presidential administration.
