(MENAFN) Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin affirmed the country's technological partnership in the manufacturing of U.S. F-35 fighter jets, and not merely a client.
According to the spokesperson, "Turkey is, and will continue to be, a partner of F-35 technology. We are not just a client or buyer of F-35s."
Even though Turkey is a contributor to the U.S. F-35 global program, its resolution to acquire Russia's S-400 surface-to-air missile system weakened its ties with the U.S.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also highlighted the country's purchase of the Russian system as a national security agreement.
