Turkish President links anti-war students with terrorism

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has labeled students who protested war at a prominent university as terrorists after a dispute erupted.

The president accused "communist, traitor youth" of attempting to spoil a student stand opened with "religious, nationalist, local youth" at the public Bogazici University.

President Erdogan also declared an inquiry to be taking place, stressing "we won't give these terrorist youth the right to study at these universities."

The statements have come in response to students who opened a stand handing out sweets labeled "Afrin delight" to fallen soldiers in Turkey's cross-border mission in Syria, while another group held up anti-war banners protesting against them.
