Morocco sees 18.1 percent jump in tourism revenues Jan-April

(MENAFN) Morocco was declared to have seen a year-on-year 18.1 percent surge in its tourism revenues, reaching USD2.1 billion during the January-April period this year.

Morocco's foreign exchange regulator found a 23 percent boost in local arrivals from overseas, posting USD2.11 billion from USD1.85 billion in 2017 in the first four months.

The boost in the country's foreign currency reserves was explained to have been mainly driven by revenues and remittance from locals living abroad.

The country however has seen a 17.1 percent decline in foreign direct investments, standing at USD676 million compared with USD816 million during the same period in 2017.
