Pakistan- Cross-border attack foiled



(MENAFN - Tribal News Network) BARA: The security forces foiled an attack by militants based in Afghanistan on a check post in Khyber tribal district on Saturday night.

Media reports said the militants opened fire on Hakeem post in Loe Shalman from Afghanistan and also fired a rocket. The security forces promptly retaliated and the militants escaped.

Pakistan has lodged protest with Afghanistan several times over the cross-border attacks, but still such attacks are happening.

Policeman injured

Armed men opened fire on a police party in Peshawar on Saturday, leaving a constable injured.

Media reports said unknown armed men opened fire on Rider Squad of police near Pir Zakori Bridge. The constable, identified as Luqman, was taken to hospital.

A large number of policemen reached the spot after the incident and initiated a search operation.

Youth commits suicide

A young man committed suicide for unknown reasons in Tank on Saturday.

17-year-old Muhammad Farooq, a resident of Purana Toran village, shot himself dead due to unknown reasons. His body was taken to District Headquarters Hospital Tank.
