dubai customs on saturday unveiled its latest world-class integrated system for containers and trucks x-ray screening at jebel ali port.
the cutting-edge procedures systems and tools in place by dubai customs were introduced to a high-profile delegation from the indian consulate in dubai headed by dr teju thomas honourary consul at the indian consulate.

abdullah al khaja acting executive director of the client and cargo division at dubai customs said the device can screen the contents of 150 trucks per hour moving at eight to 15km per hour or one truck every 24 seconds.

al khaja said the advanced container scanning system has been developed to help effectively protect the borders of dubai and the uae.
“the system has recently claimed the dubai government excellence programme’s distinguished technological/technical project award.”
he added that the project was in pursuance of dubai customs’ strategic objectives to enhance compliance and support legitimate trade as well as to keep up with the growing container capacity of jebel ali port.
“the integration between the container scanning devices the customs declaration system and other dubai customs operational systems has significantly helped increase inspection flow at the port with the capacity to release scanned cargo on the spot without discharging containers.”
