Pro-Kurdish Party: "Turkey misinforms on Afrin offensive"

(MENAFN) Ankara has been accused by the main pro-Kurdish party in the country of misinformation about civilian casualties, killed in the military operation "Olive Branch".

Pervin Buldan, co-chairperson of the People's Democratic Party (HDP), stated at a press conference in Istanbul on Thursday (February 22nd) that a huge number of civilians, counting women and children, had lost their lives, during the Turkish military offensive, "Turkey will not win anything for Afrin," she said.

Earlier in the day, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag claimed that no civilians were killed or injured during the air and ground operations of Turkish forces in Afrin.

On Saturday, January 20, Ankara carried out a military offensive called "Olive Branch" against the Syrian city of Afrin, in the far north of Syria, under the pretext of fighting the People's Protection Units (YPG), that Turkey announced them "terrorists."
