Turkmenistan Focuses On Foreign Investment And Advanced Technologies For Energy Sector Growth


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 25. Turkmenistanis actively attracting foreign investments and advancedtechnologies to implement large-scale economic tasks in the energysector, Trend reports.

This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet ofMinisters of Turkmenistan, Batyr Amanov, during the InternationalForum to Attract Foreign Investments in Turkmenistan's EnergySector, which is taking place in Paris.

He noted that among the important projects are the completion ofthe Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India (TAPI) gaspipeline, attracting foreign investment for the development ofsections of Turkmenistan's sector of the Caspian Sea, and theimplementation of major production projects.

Furthermore, Amanov also added that, at the moment, the demandfor Turkmen energy resources is growing more and more.

Meanwhile, the purpose of this event is to increase the chancesof attracting foreign direct investment in all segments of theenergy sector of Turkmenistan and improve the regional debate onthe future sustainable development of energy.

Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of provennatural gas reserves after Russia, Iran, and Qatar.

Data from the Turkmengaz State Concern shows that the country'shydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons ofoil equivalent.

This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and morethan 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
