(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Jan 8 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdulmahdi said Tuesday Baghdad was coordinating with all parties inside Syria in the fight against so-called Islamic State (IS), which was active in a pocket near Iraqi border.
Iraqi forces are keeping close eyes on borders and a pocket controlled by IS inside Syria, Abdulmahdi told a news conference.
He said his government sent an official delegation to the Syrian government to discuss best counter-terrorism methods.
Iraq, he added, was also coordinating with the US, the international coalition and Turkey.
Abdulmahdi said the security situation at the borders was very important and should be "handled with a decisive manner." Iraq had announced operations against IS inside Syria. (end) ahh.bs
