(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The MSM30 index ended Tuesday's trading session flat, closing at 6,823.43. OIFC and Bank Sohar both attracted investor interest, trading 7.6mn and 1.8mn shares, respectively.
Bank Muscat also witnessed interest. National Aluminium Products declined 7.6 per cent as investors reacted to weak first-quarter results. The company posted a 18.5 per cent decline in year-on-year net profit, at RO159,000. The stock posted volumes of 382,005 shares on Tuesday.
Of the three subindices, the Financial and Services indices gained 0.14 percent and 0.09 per cent, respectively, while the Industrial index lost 0.08 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed flat. Total volume and value increased 1.76 per cent and 1.25 per cent, respectively.
Insurance, Sohar Power and Al Anwar Holding were the top gainers, adding 2.83 per cent, 2.15 per cent and 1.65 per cent, respectively, while National Aluminium, Construction Materials Ind and #Oman
and Emirates Inv were the top losers, declining 7.6 per cent, 1.59 per cent and 1.42 per cent, respectively.
