Kuwait- 205,176 people visit emergency unit of Jahra Hospital: Al-Mutairi

KUWAIT CITY, June 5: Jahra Hospital Director Dr Ali Al-Mutairi said 205,176 people visited the Emergency Unit of the hospital in the first quarter of the year; while the number of outpatient clinic visitors in the morning shift reached 50,032 and 21,651 in the evening shift, in addition to 9,366 who were confined at the hospital, reports Al-Rai daily.

In his interview with the daily recently, Al-Mutairi revealed the average waiting period for patients in the Emergency Unit is 10 to 15 minutes. He pointed out the emergency unit waiting period according to Canadian Classification Protocols is 20 to 60 minutes.

He attributed this achievement to the strong coordination between the staff – doctors, nurses and technical workers, in compliance with the instructions of Health Minister Dr Basel Al-Sabah and Undersecretary Dr Mustafa Redha to improve the quality of health services offered to the public. He also unveiled a plan to upgrade the Surgery Care nit, three major operation rooms, and eight other operation rooms.

He affirmed the hospital was not affected by the decision to increase health fees for expatriates, disclosing the rate of reduction ranges from 10 to 15 percent compared with the percentage before the application of the decision.
