Flavored E-cigarettes to be banned in U.S. after causing 6 deaths

The Trump administration is making plans to ban selling flavored e-cigarettes after an outbreak of vaping lung diseases that infected more than 450 and killed at six people in the country.

According a statement released on Wednesday by the U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will finalize a policy in the coming weeks that to clear the market of unauthorized, non-tobacco-flavored e-cigarette.

The U.S. president said that it was a problem and "specifically with respect for children" after meeting with HHS secretary Alex Azar and FDA acting Commissioner Norman Sharpless on Wednesday.

Azar was quoted saying that "The Trump Administration is making it clear that we intend to clear the market of flavored e-cigarettes to reverse the deeply concerning epidemic of youth e-cigarette use that is impacting children, families, schools and communities".
