Kazakhstan, Czech Republic Set To Elevate Cargo Traffic Along Middle Corridor


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 21. Kazakhstan, in partnership with the Czech Republic, aims to significantly raise its cargo traffic to 10 million tons in the near future, Trend reports.

Czech Republic's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jan Lipavski, arrived in Astana today for an official visit, which included meetings and negotiations with Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat Nurtleu.

During their discussions, it was noted that last year, trade between the two countries doubled to over $630 million, while direct investments from the Czech Republic into Kazakhstan's economy have exceeded $350 million over the past 20 years.

Both parties agreed to enhance collaboration in sectors such as mechanical engineering, energy, information technology, and emerging technologies. They also underscored the importance of developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route - the Middle Corridor.

Following his visit to Kazakhstan, Jan Lipavský is scheduled to continue on to Uzbekistan for an official engagement on October 22.
