Thailand posts 14 percent increase of durian export to China


(MENAFN)A senior government administrator on Tuesday, May 4, stated that Thailand has exported USD186 million worth of durian to China throughout this year's first quarter.

According to Trade Negotiations Department Director General Oramon Sapthaweetham, the auctions of Thai durian to China from January to March in 2021 secured USD186 million, reporting a 14 percent upsurge from the same period in 2020 and making up 88 percent of a total of Thai durian export worth to the world markets.

Thailand exported USD1.5 billion worth of durian to China throughout in 2020, marking a 78 percent upsurge from 2019 and making up 73 percent of a total of Thai durian export values to the world markets, Oramon added.
