Mmaintaining Good Relations With All Countries, Including Pakistan Is A Priority: Mujahid

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) on Tuesday stated that maintaining good relations with all neighboring countries, including Pakistan is a major priority for the ruling regime.
Recently, Pakistani officials provocatively stated that the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants use Afghan soil to launch attacks on Pakistan, prompting serious condemnations from the Afghan Taliban authorities in Kabul.
In response to the recent remarks and a statement by Pakistan officials, Zabiullah Mujahid said the Islamic Emirate is determined to not allow Afghanistan's soil to be used to pose threats to other countries including Pakistan.
“We are committed to this purpose, but the Pakistani side is also responsible for trying to resolve the situation, refraining from baseless allegations and provocative thoughts because it creates mistrust,” said Mujahid.
Not allowing Afghan soil to be used against the security of other countries was a significant part of the Doha agreement signed between the Afghan Taliban and the United States. However, Afghanistan's Taliban administration has yet to prove and live up to the promises they made at the Doha Peace talks.
This came following Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif's remarks in an interview with Geo News on Monday, stating that the banned TTP is planning their attacks against Pakistan from inside Afghanistan.
The relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have soured over the recent past, following two cross-border shelling which took place in December, and the gunfire which targeted the Pakistani Diplomatic Mission in the heart of Kabul, resulting in the injury of one of Pakistani Chief Diplomat's security guard.
Meanwhile, Afghan authorities are not so happy with the harsh treatment of Afghan refugees by Pakistani officials currently residing in different parts of Pakistan. A considerable number of Afghan citizens including men, women, and children are put behind bars in Karachi prisons, due to not having visas and stay permits – accompanied by widespread criticisms within Pakistan and the outside world.
