Syria to help Lebanon get Egypt's gas, Jordan's electricity via Syrian territories


(MENAFN) Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the country approved to help Lebanon has Egypt's gas and Jordan's electricity through Syrian territories.

Head of the Lebanese-Syrian Higher Council Nasri Khoury was the one who declared the approval who told journalists that Syria confirmed to Lebanon's request to aid transmit gas from Egypt and electricity from Jordan through Syrian territories.

No further details were stated about what Syria would get for easing the flow of energy to Lebanon as Syria itself was suffering from a lack of fuel, electricity, and gas as a result of the US sanctions forced on the Syrian government.

The Lebanese delegation included Lebanon's Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Zeina Akar, in addition to Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni, Energy Minister Raymond Ghajar, and Chief of General Security Abbas Ibrahim.
