Ssangyong Motor South Korea sales down 2.2 percent

(MENAFN) Ssangyong Motor Co., the South Korean unit of Indian SUV maker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said its March sales dropped 2.2 percent on-year, Yonhap News reported.

The automaker attributed the drop to weak oversea sales, which dragged down overall figures, in addition to weak exports, which had fell after the firm cut down shipment to Russia.

Ssangyong combined sales came to 12,870 units last month, down from 13,160 units sold in the same month a year earlier, the South Korean automaker division said in a statement.

"We will further expand global sales by actively responding to the growing SUV market based on the overseas launching of the Tivoli," the CEO of Ssangyong Motor said.
