Iranian President Presents Proposed Candidates For Ministerial Posts To Parliament

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. Iranian President
Masoud Pezeshkian today presented the names of the ministers he
proposed to the Iranian parliament for a vote of confidence,
Trend reports.
According to the information, Abbas Araghchi has been nominated
for the post of Foreign Minister, Aziz Nasirzade for the post of
Defense Minister, Eskander Momeni for the post of Interior
Minister, Mohsen Paknejad for the post of Oil Minister, and Abbas
Aliabadi for the post of energy Minister. It is reported that the
Iranian parliament will hold sessions on August 17 regarding the
vote of confidence of ministers.
In the second round of the extraordinary presidential election
in Iran, held on July 5, the representative of the reformist camp,
Masoud Pezeshkian, won with almost 16.4 million votes. His rival,
Saeed Jalili of the conservative camp, received 13.5 million
votes.
To note, on May 19, a helicopter carrying former Iranian
President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian,
Tabriz Province Imam Ayatollah Ali Hashim, and East Azerbaijan
Province Governor-General Malek Rahmati crashed while flying from
Khudafarin to Tabriz, and the Iranian President and the entire
accompanying delegation were confirmed dead.
