According to SP Warsak Arshad Khan, the attack took place late at night as the assailants approached the check post from a nearby graveyard at the entry point of Regi Model Town. The two officers who lost their lives in this cowardly act have been identified as Van Driver Farman and Head Constable Wajid. Their bodies will be laid to rest in their hometowns with official honors today.

SP Malik Arshad further stated that a search operation is currently underway to apprehend the attackers. However, at this point, it is premature to determine their exact number or identity.

It is distressing to note that terrorist activities in Peshawar have been on the rise. Just yesterday, a car-borne suicide attacker targeted a security forces vehicle in Hayatabad, resulting in injuries to eight personnel.
