Arrest made in fatal stabbing of three children during Texas child protective services visit

(MENAFN) A tragic incident occurred on Friday in Italy, Texas, when three children were fatally stabbed and two others were critically injured during a visit by Texas Child Protective Services. The incident took place at a home on South Harris Street, and the Ellis County Sheriff's Department received a call at approximately 4 p.m. local time. Deputy Jerry Cozby reported that upon arrival, multiple victims were found, all of whom were children. Sadly, three of them were found dead, while the other two were critically injured and taken to local hospitals.

Following the incident, the authorities arrested and charged Shamaiya Deyonshana Hall, a 25-year-old woman, with three counts of capital murder. She is currently being held on a bond of USD6 million. The sheriff's office has not yet confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the victims.

According to reports, the murders took place while the Texas Child Protective Services caseworker was conducting a home visit. The caseworker had decided to remove the children from the home and called 911 when the incident occurred. The responding deputies found the victims upon arrival.

The victims of the incident were a 6-year-old boy, 5-year-old twins (a boy and a girl), a 4-year-old boy, and a 13-month-old girl. The sheriff's office has stated that the 4-year-old boy and 13-month-old girl were "seriously wounded" and taken to hospitals for treatment.

This tragedy has shocked and saddened the local community and beyond. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the authorities are doing everything they can to bring justice to the victims and their families. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
