KSrelief to Provide More Aid to Earthquake Survivors in Syria and Turkey

(MENAFN) Dr Abdullah Al Rabeeah, supervisor general of KSrelief, announced that more aid will be provided to survivors of the recent earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.

He made this announcement at a briefing in the Saudi capital ahead of the third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum, which was scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday.
During the briefing, Dr Al Rabeeah discussed the kingdom's continuing humanitarian efforts in Syria and Turkey, shedding light on the main challenges and solutions.

He emphasized the importance of the forum, particularly during a time of global crises, and stated that KSrelief’s work is based on people, not governments or religion.

When asked about recent tensions in the region and whether aid was reaching Syria, Dr Al Rabeeah explained that KSrelief was working with Syria’s Red Crescent and, with the help of Turkey, they were able to provide aid to earthquake victims. He also mentioned that Saudi Arabia is distributing 3,000 units of transient homes equally between Turkey and Syria, and that more than 3,000 volunteers were helping survivors.

Dr Al Rabeeah stressed the significance of making a tangible difference on the ground and described the disaster as “large and tragic, which will take months to address.”

He further elaborated that KSrelief was among the first to pass through the north of Syria and Turkey and obtained approval for aid in both countries within a few hours. He also highlighted that they have a trusting relationship with both countries and that KSrelief does not differentiate between Turkey, Syria, or any other country in the world when it comes to humanitarian work.

In conclusion, Dr Al Rabeeah's announcement of increased aid to earthquake survivors in Syria and Turkey ahead of the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum highlights the importance of global cooperation during times of crisis. It is a reminder that humanitarian work should be based on people, not governments or religion, and that it is crucial to have a trusting relationship with the affected countries to make a tangible difference on the ground.
