Iran's reaction encouraged EU to retreat on IRGC description

(MENAFN) An Iranian politician has stated that Iran’s reaction to the European Parliament’s resolution on the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) resulted in the EU to withdraw on the IRGC listing.

The politician, Jalal Rashidi Kouchi, informed ICANA that the resolution was achieved with a serious reaction from Iran. The European Parliament agreed that we will not think twice to decisively reply to this resolution, Kouchi made a statement.

He was remarking on latest comments by EU foreign policy head Josep Borrell who declared that the EU cannot call the IRGC a terrorist group just as they don’t like it.

“Iran's reaction to Europe's wrong action regarding calling the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist caused them to reconsider their behavior,” the politician added.

He further noted, “I believe that we should give a firm message to Europe that the cost of such a work will definitely be much higher for Europe than for Iran. Europe should know that its conditions are different from America. It seems to have understood this difference to some extent.”
