Biman To Start Flying On Dhaka-Imphal Route Soon : Mahbub Ali

(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : Biman Bangladesh airlines will start operating flights on the Dhaka-Imphal route soon which will boost tourism, trade, social and cultural relations between Bangladesh and the Indian state of Manipur, State Minister for Civil Aviation and tourism Md Mahbub Ali said.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the National convention of the International Manipuri Association (IMA) at the Sylhet Zilla Parishad Auditorium on October 21, 2022.
'When a delegation of Manipuri met Bangabandhu sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1973, he gave financial assistance for the repair of their temples and establishments affected during the Liberation War,' he also said.
Mahbub Ali also added that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government continues to work for the development of the living standards and culture of the Manipuri people.
President of IMA Bangladesh Oinam Ramendra Kumar Singh presided over the event as a special guest.
Earlier, Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury inaugurated the convention.
Launches Sylhet-Jeddah direct flights
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has started operating direct flights to Jeddah from Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.
The national flag carrier will operate one flight every Monday on the route.
The flight of Biman from Sylhet will leave at 6:30 pm on Monday and reach Jeddah at 10:10 pm local time, said a press release.
The return flight will leave Jeddah at 12:10 am on Tuesday and reach Sylhet airport at 9:45 am. Then the flight will leave Sylhet at 10:45 am and reach Dhaka at 11:25 am, said Sylhet Osmani International Airport Manager Hafizur Rahman.
It is good news for passengers as the direct flight operation on the route will bring relief to them, he added.
