QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Filmmakers in western Badghis province say they are happy about the peace and stability in the country and they would increase their shows for promoting social peace and people's happiness if they are supported.
Abdul Sami Qaderi, one of the filmmakers in Badghis, has performed remarkable plays for years to convey the message of peace and empathy to the people, especially children, tired of war and violence, so that he can bring a moment of happiness to their faces.
The 32 years old filmmaker is a resident of Qala-i-Naw city, the provincial capital, who says that he has been working in the theater and cinema since last 15 years.
Talking to Pajhwok Afghan News, he said,“Since childhood I was interested in acting in theater and playing positive roles and being able to do basic things for my people. I continued to make films and informative stories for my people; I have made many shows, particularly for school children, and brought smiles to their faces.”
Qaderi has made most of his shows in the form of a message of peace, but says that he has made shows in various fields, particularlyfor reducing domestic violence, inspiring war affected people, as well orphaned children.
“We have a lot of achievements in various fields, including women's rights, children's rights, human rights and minority rights. We are still continuing our artistic work so that we can do something for our people,” he added.
He said that he was praised by the previous government's High Peace Council a few years ago for his activities for promoting peace and was chosen as peace model in the province.
“My enthusiasm and interest in theater and peace was described by former government officials as a model of peace, my activities were also interesting for people who encouraged me a lot to work more in the area,” he added.
Qaderi is happy with establishment of peace and stability in the country and says that most of his film production in future will focus on promoting social peace and bringing smiles to people's faces.
In a message, Qaderi calls on the people of Afghanistan to join hands and work for lasting peace, social justice and mutual acceptance so Afghanistan will be free from war and violence forever.
Meanwhile, Mohammad NaeemRustayee, another filmmaker in Badghis province who has worked with Qaderi in theater for many years, said that they had worked a lot in various fields, particularly promoting peace and were able to perform interesting shows for people.
“We performed shows in presence of people, particularly children, and our work was mostly focused on peace, reconciliation, violence and a society free of war,” he said.
Although film sector in Badghis faced many challenges due to conflicts and insecurity, but filmmakers still continued their efforts in cooperation with local officials to create shows for inspiring people, particularly children, he said.
“Support us so we can work more for promoting peace and bringing smile to the faces of people,” he said.
The two filmmakers call on the caretaker government and institutions that support artists to work together for improvement of cinema and their artistic works so that they can continue their artistic and social activities as they did in the past.
