Qatar's Ambassador to France affirms progress of work at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 facilities


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE Ambassador of Qatar to France Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani has affirmed that work in the construction sites of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is progressing at a rapid pace, and that the construction of facilities is almost complete.

The Ambassador expressed Qatar's aspiration to host a historic and unprecedented World Cup, considering that it would be a carbon-neutral and environmentally friendly tournament.

This came in his speech at the inauguration of a virtual symposium organized by the Qatari-French Economic League (Cadran) on the last preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and creating long-term growth levers for French companies in Qatar.

In his opening speech, Sheikh Ali welcomed the participants in the symposium that brought together high-level French and Qatari economic representatives, expressing hope to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic before the end of next summer.

He said that major French companies supported the implementation of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the World Cup that will be held in Doha in 2022, in terms of infrastructure, sports accommodation, equipment, security, and housing services. He also expressed hope for continued cooperation with French companies.
