Kuwait- Labour law in many tongues


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Kuwait Society for Human Rights recently embarked on a media awareness campaign concerning the private sector labor law by using caricatures and posters for orientation about the Constitution in five languages, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

In a press release, the Board Chairman of the society Khalid Al-Ajmi explained that the objective of the campaign is to sensitize expatriate workers in Kuwait about their rights as enshrined in the local law. The society aims at increasing the level of awareness of the society regarding upholding the rights of expatriate workers in Kuwait.

Secretary General of the society Hussein Al-Otaibi affirmed that the society is trying to set a positive example for ensuring active participation by civil society organizations in upholding legal rights of workers. He said, 'We have decided to sensitize expatriate workers about their legal rights through their mother tongues, as many of them cannot read English or Arabic'.
