Historic moment

“Odisha joining the Ayushman Bharat PM JAY scheme is a historic moment. Around 45% of India's population covered under Ayushman Bharat PM JAY scheme. Since 2018, over 8 crore hospitalizations have been recorded under AB PM-JAY. Political ego should not come in the way of States in choosing people centric schemes,” said the union health minister J.P. Nadda.

The minister said that hospitalization has significantly increased in far-flung and remote areas due to access to health facilities aided by AB PMJAY.

A team led by CEO, NHA visited Bhubaneshwar, Odisha last year and met the health minister and chief secretary of the state.
