Azerbaijan Likely To Supply Power To Kyrgyzstan Via Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan - Minister
(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 2. Azerbaijan will beable to supply Kyrgyzstan with energy through Kazakhstan andUzbekistan, Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev said, Trend reports.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan is currently constructingenergy lines with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Given its technicalcapabilities, it can be easily transmitted further toKyrgyzstan.
"The topic of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan andKyrgyzstan has been continuing for some time, and the ministriesjust signed a memorandum. Azerbaijan now exports oil, fuels,lubricants, gasoline, diesel fuel, and natural gas. With theupcoming opening of the improved Junda oil refinery, more oil isnecessary. Kyrgyzstan has expressed interest in obtaining oil fromAzerbaijan, and logistics are now being considered.," heemphasized.
Ibraev noted that Azerbaijan has a well-developed production ofcable products as well as power transformers.
"Negotiations have been completed, and our experts will fly toAzerbaijan in June for Energy Week. During this trip, they willvisit factories where cables are manufactured and closely watch theproduction process," the minister added.
On April 24, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in theenergy sector was signed between the Ministries of Energy ofKyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
