To think that in 2010, I was a young girl standing in front of this bookstore, dreaming of one day having a book published here, and now seeing that dream come true is surreal!” - Sheylla GonçalvesLOS ANGELES, USA, March 26, 2024 /EINPresswire / -- WeBook Publishing launched its debut bilingual children's book in English and Portuguese entitled "The Forest in Danger : Floresta em Perigo." It was written by Sheylla Gonçalves and illustrated in watercolor by Becca Lacerda. The book party happened last Saturday afternoon, March 23rd, at Barnes & Noble The Grove in Los Angeles, bringing an excited crowd despite the cold weather and heavy rain. Renowned Brazilian voice actress and director Mabel Cezar moderated the panel and enchanted the little ones when they discovered she was the Brazilian voice of dear characters such as Minnie Mouse, Jessie in Toy Story, and Princess Leia in Star Wars.

"The Forest in Danger: Floresta em Perigo” combines children's fiction and environmental education elements to deliver an enchanting tale of adventure and conservation. Readers join Backpacker Shey and her loyal companion, Crystal the doggie, as they journey through nature and learn valuable lessons about protecting the environment. Guided by Tony the Lion's storytelling, the characters confront the challenges of a forest in peril and discover the importance of caring for our planet.

Sheylla Gonçalves, a talented storyteller, actress, and voice artist from Rio de Janeiro who has lived in Los Angeles for over a decade, brings her passion for storytelling and environmental advocacy to life in this captivating children's book. The author is excited to share her latest creation with children, families, caregivers, and educators worldwide.

“The book signing event was amazing, just as I always wished, at Barnes & Noble The Grove in Los Angeles, surrounded by dear friends and special guests. Being able to bridge the gap between the United States and Brazil through The Backpackers of Imagination series is a tremendous achievement. To think that in 2010, I was a young girl standing in front of this bookstore, dreaming of one day having a book published here, and now seeing that dream come true is surreal. All my love and gratitude to everyone who made this dream happen, especially to WeBook Publishing,” said Sheylla.

Over 50 attendees enjoyed our literary celebration of bilingual stories. The party was filled with fun for the whole family. Refreshments, delicious bowls from Ubatuba Açai, and Brazilian sweets from Pasokin were available. An Easter basket with Brazilian chocolates kindly donated by HiBrazil was raffled off. A plush doll donated by Bespoke was inspired by the book's character Shey. Bilingual kids, parents, educators, journalists Cleide Klock and Jana Nascimento Nagase, Brazilian actresses Suzana Pires, Natalia Klein, and Laura Linn, author Cleo Monteiro Lobato, and Emmy nominated executive producer Mark Keizer were present.
