Joint Iran-Oman Business Forum Held to Boost Trade Relations

(MENAFN) A Joint Iran-Oman Business Forum took place on Monday at the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) in an effort to enhance trade exchange between the two countries. The forum aimed to strengthen bilateral business relations, establish strategic partnerships to increase the volume of investments and business activity, and access new economic fields. The ICCIMA portal reported that the event was attended by members of the Joint Oman-Iran Business Council and a delegation of Omani private sector representatives who are participating in Iran expo 2023. As many as 250 Iranian firms took part in the forum, engaging in several B2B meetings with Omani businesspeople to discuss potential business and investment deals.
Prior to the forum, ICCIMA Head Gholam-Hossein Shafeie met with his Omani counterpart to discuss opportunities for mutual cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries. During the meeting, Shafeie emphasized the need to remove trade obstacles and called for multilateral cooperation and joint investments to allow the markets of both countries to take advantage of each other’s business opportunities in any situation.
The Joint Iran-Oman Business Forum is part of ongoing efforts by both countries to expand economic cooperation. Iran and Oman have historically maintained strong economic ties, with Oman serving as an important trading partner for Iran. In recent years, the two countries have taken steps to further strengthen their economic relations, with increased investment in sectors such as energy, transportation, and tourism.
