Hundreds object Kais Saied’s “political path” in Tunisia after months-long crisis

(MENAFN) Hundreds protested in the capital Tunis on Sunday in contradiction of leader Kais Saied’s “political path” after a months-long catastrophe in the North African nation.

Sunday’s demonstration was arranged by the National Salvation Front (NSF), an alliance of six Tunisian sides against Saied.

Abdul Latif al-Makki, Secretary-General of the Labor and Achievement Party, a coalition member, stated that Tunisian government had blocked protests from demonstrating in Mnihla region in the capital.

“However, we organized our protest west of Tunis, in which hundreds took part,” he informed Anadolu Agency.

He asserted that followers of Saied had tried to assault protesters “but were prevented from doing so by the National Guard forces.”

There was no remark from the government on the claim. Followers of the Tunisian leader, on the other hand, circulated a video of what they named the expulsion of the NSF parties from Mnihla.

Tunisia has been in the conflict of a massive political problem that worsened the nation’s financial situations since 2021, when Saied exiled the administration and dissolved parliament.
