The Marine Protection Department (Al Khor Unit) caught fishermen hunting a number of salal birds and hiding them inside a fishing boat to sell them, in a clear violation of the hunting law, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change said. The boat was stopped at the entrance to Al Khor, and a violation report was issued. Inspectors from the ministry freed the birds, took care of them and supervised their re-release into nature. The ministry has called on everyone to 'abide by the laws and preserve the biodiversity and ecological balance of our environment'.
