(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Cairo, September 22, 2022, SPA -- Saudi Press Agency (SPA) today won three awards in the fifth and sixth sessions of the Arab Media Excellence Award, where SPA achieved the best Arab media organization Award for reporting news items that served sustainable development goals in 'developmental media', an award for the best distinguished Arab news agency with its specialized sections, in addition for winning the 'best picture' award in the competition which was organized by the Federation of the Arab News Agency (Fana).
In 2015, the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Information Ministers launched the Arab Media Excellence Award as one of the activities it organizes in the annual celebration of Arab Media Day, which falls on April 21 of each year and is awarded to official and accredited media agencies and media professionals (including Audio visual, Press and online media) who provide media reports that serve Arab courses. Every year a specific category is defined for the award.
The award aims to honor Arab media personalities and institutions that have made extraordinary contributions and outstanding work that serve the Arab world, encourage the spirit of innovation, and report on issues of concern to Arab citizens.
Since its first session in 2016, the Arab Media Excellence Award has received a tremendous Arab welcome from many Arab media institutions and Arab media professionals, who expressed their hope that this award would contribute to the advancement of Arab media in the coming years.
