273 Cases, Two Covid Deaths In J&K

Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported 273 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus on Monday while two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 239 new cases of Covid-19 while 34 others were detected from various districts of Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the onset of the pandemic in J&K to 474055.

In the Valley, officials said, Baramulla registered the highest 96 new cases of virus, Srinagar 60, Budgam 29, Anantnag 23, Kupwara 16, Pulwama 9, Bandipora 5 and Kulgam 1. Shopian and Ganderbal districts in the Valley reported no fresh cases of Coronavirus.

In the winter capital, officials said, Ramban registered a maximum of 14 new cases of infection, Jammu 11, Udhampur and Rajouri 3 each, Kathua 2 and Samba 1. No new cases were detected in the four districts of Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Reasi.

Also, they said that two more people succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, raising the fatality count to 4779 in J&K—2347 in Jammu and 2432 in the Valley.

“Moreover, 580 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 62 from Jammu division and 518 from Kashmir division,” the officials added.
