Qatar, Armenia Review Bilateral Ties, Sign Agreements

Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani held yesterday an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia H E Nikol Pashinyan.

The session dealt with reviewing bilateral relations and enhancing them in different fields, particularly economic, commerce, health, education, and food security sectors. It also dealt with the latest regional and international issues of joint interest. 

Following the session, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding in different fields. 

They witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on establishing political talks on issues of joint interest, another MoU on news exchange between Armenian News Agency and Qatar News Agency (QNA), and a twinning agreement between the Doha Municipality and that of the city of Yerevan, a joint cooperation agreement in the health field, another cooperation agreement in education and higher education, a memorandum of understanding in the tourism and business events field, and a cooperation agreement between Qatar University and Yerevan State University.

The talks session and signing ceremony were attended by a number of Their Excellencies ministers, and was attended on the Armenian side by a number of Their Excellencies members of the accompanying delegation. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia had arrived at the Amiri Diwan earlier, where he was accorded an official reception ceremony.
