Turkey’s BIST 100 opens week with increases


(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index started at 2,466.88 points on Monday, increasing 28.05 points, or 1.15 percent, from the prior end.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 0.49 percent to close Friday at 2,438.84 points, with a day-to-day exchange capacity of 39.2 billion Turkish liras (USD2.39 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 16.3717 at 10.05 AM regional time (07:05GMT), from 16.3020 at last week's end.

The euro/lira exchange rate was at 17.6042 against 17.5030, whereas a British pound exchanged for 20.6667 liras, increasing from 20.6590 at the last end.

Brent crude oil was exchanged for about USD116.11 a barrel as of 10.05 AM regional time, whereas an ounce price of gold stood at $1,859.20.
