Ramadan Rituals' Welcome Return in Makkah Amid Spiritual Atmosphere on First Night of Ramadan Taraweeh Prayer


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Makkah, Apr 2, 2022, SPA -- The Grand Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Haram) in Makkah again allows customary and communal Ramadan rituals including Itikaf or secluded devotion, and Iftar suppers - a return to normalcy welcomed by citizens and residents, after two years of COVID-19 restrictions.
Amid a spirit-filled atmosphere, worshipers performed the evening prayer and the first Taraweeh prayer in the Grand Mosque on the first nights of the blessed month of Ramadan for 2022, after lifting off the precautionary measures amidst the integration of services for all the Grand Mosque's devotees.
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque presented a package of service, field, preventive and operational measures aimed at providing a healthy and safe environment that helps the worshipers perform their rituals in a safe spiritual faith-filled atmosphere.
The entire Grand Mosque is witnessing ongoing operations of washing, disinfecting and sterilizing it with (10) washes per day through more than (4000) male and female workers, 130,000 liters of disinfectants and 2500 liters per day of the finest types of fresheners, and the use of nearly (35,000 liters) of sterilizers to sterilize all surfaces and carpets.
Al-Masjid Al-Haram was also furnished with (25,000) carpets, and (11) smart robots were used to sterilize it.
On Zamzam water, the Agency of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques continues its efforts for watering works, as it has distributed more than (25,000) Zamzam water containers distributed throughout the Grand Mosque, and operated 2500 fixed marble stations (mashrabiyas) in the third northern expansion, and secured the funeral chapels with sufficient numbers of Zamzam water bottles, and followed up on the distribution of bottled Zamzam water to cover the Mataf and the public prayer squares for Umrah performers, in addition to the sterilization of bags and containers, packages and electric carts.
Also, the Presidency supervised the operations of movement and electric carts inside the Grand Mosque, opening its gates, regulating entry and exit from them, determining the paths of persons with disabilities through them, and other services that it supervises.
The Presidency has harnessed artificial intelligence and interactive screens in the service of the worshipers, including; (robots) for sterilization, (robots) to distribute Zamzam water, (a robot) to answer the questioners and (a robot) for purification, as (8) interactive screens were provided to benefit from the forensic sciences, (34) spatial guidance screens, (4) screens for guidance in various languages, (9) screens to monitor its service, (376) wireless devices to make it easier for field staff to communicate and integrate among themselves, in addition to (9) wireless stations for the presidency's command to follow up on the work of the field and deliver directions to its staff.
The Presidency also allocated (6) channels to communicate with the operations center or through the unified number (1966), in addition to distributing and providing blessed Zamzam water to the worshipers and Umrah performers through special transport carts, backpacks, and distributing packages in addition to distributing thermos flasks throughout the Grand Mosque as well as mashrabiyas.
It is worth mentioning that the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques' affairs has already recruited approximately 12,000 human cadres divided into four shifts, men and women working to provide comfort and services to the worshipers, as it also provided a safe and healthy environment for the worshipers in the Grand Mosque through sterilization, disinfection and washing around the clock with the latest modern technology devices.
