Five civilians killed, 22 injured by Russian shelling in Donetsk region over past day


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Five civilians were killed and 22 injured as a result of shelling by Russian aggressors in the Donetsk region on March 31.

The head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, said this in a statement posted on Telegram , according to Ukrinform.

'Russia is killing civilians! Today, five people died as a result of Russian shelling in the Donetsk region: two in Marinka, two in Vuhledar and one in Kostiantynivka. Twenty-two people were injured, including four children,' he wrote.

He noted that it was possible to clarify information about two people who died near Melekine while trying to escape from Mariupol. There was one child among them.

The exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha remains unknown.

According to an infographic published by Kyrylenko, a total of 137 Russian invaders were killed and 560 civilians wounded in the Donetsk region on March 31 (at 8 pm) starting on February 24.

On February 24, Russian President Putin launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying critical infrastructure, with missiles hitting residential buildings.
