The Qatar Vaccination Center for Business and industry Sector in the Bu Garn area started Sunday providing COVID-19 vaccines to essential employees in the business and industry sectors.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Nour, Senior Consultant Emergency medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and the national leader of the Qatar Vaccination Center for Business and Industry Sector, said that the opening of the center comes within the framework of increasing the capacity of the National Covid-19 Vaccination Program as it vaccinated about 10,000 people on Sunday, its first day of work.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Abdel Nour explained that the center will gradually increase the number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered daily to reach 30,000 doses per day for qualified people.
He stated that the vaccination center was established as a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Public Health and HMC, with the support of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and ConocoPhillips - Qatar. The center operates on a pre-appointment system, and companies can book vaccination appointments for their eligible employees by communicating via e-mail: QVChamad.qa.
Dr. Abdel Nour indicated that the center allows the targeted and qualified group to obtain not only the booster Covid-19 vaccine dose but also the first and second doses for those who did not receive them earlier.
He stressed the importance of taking the initiative and booking an appointment to get the anti-virus vaccination because the only factor in addressing the Covid-19 pandemic is taking the vaccine in addition to adhering to preventive measures, as the vaccine contributes significantly to preventing infection or alleviating its severity.
Also, he pointed out that Qatar Vaccination Center for Business and Industry Sector works from Sunday to Thursday from 7am to 5pm and employs about 500 employees, including 400 medical staff, with 280 vaccination places at the same time.
