China: Daily production of crude steel increases 24.38 percent

(MENAFN)According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association, China's main steel mills witnessed their average daily production of crude steel increase 24.38 percent year on year in mid-February.

Main steel producers hit 22.82 million tons of crude steel in mid-February.

Daily making of pig iron jumped nearly 17 percent from a year ago throughout the period, while that of rolled steel increased 25.3 percent year on year.

The sharp upsurge in daily production was mostly because of a low comparison base and increasing domestic demand, the association added.
