(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The State of Qatar has welcomed the comprehensive understandings reached by Libyan High Council of State and House of Representatives' delegations to the Libyan Dialogue in Bouznika, Morocco, on criteria and mechanisms for selecting individuals to hold sovereign positions in accordance with Article 15 of the Skhirat Agreement.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's aspiration for these understandings to contribute to supporting efforts for a political solution in Libya.
The Ministry also expressed Qatar's aspiration for these understandings to contribute to rebuilding the state in a manner that preserves the rights of the Libyan people and the rule of law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed the State of Qatar's support for the Skhirat Agreement, calling on all Libyan brothers to uphold the national interest and adhere to dialogue without excluding any component of the Libyan society, in order to reach a comprehensive political settlement that preserves Libya's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and fulfils the aspirations of its people for security and stability.
