Ambassador Trad: Kingdom, alliance countries keen to abide by international humanitarian law

Geneva, Ramadan 26, 1437, July 01, 2016, SPA -- Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva Faisal Bin Hassan Trad said that the Kingdom is keen to adhere to the principles of the United Nations for the peaceful coexistence, provide support and assistance to all countries of the world, work tirelessly to support and promote human rights, peace and global stability, fight terrorism and support the prosperity and development of all the peoples of the world.
Ambassador Trad refuted allegations by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch on the coalition''s violations of human rights in Yemen saying that the kingdom regrets such accusations.
This came in response by the ambassador to a query from the agency "Associated Press" on request by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to suspend the membership of the Kingdom in the Human Rights Council for alleged violations of human rights, stressing the keenness of the Kingdom and the Coalition to end the suffering of the Yemeni people through a political solution in implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions and the Gulf initiative.
