China's Oct manufacturing grows to 50.2%

(MENAFN) The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) announced that the country's purchasing managers' index (PMI) grew to 50.2 percent last month from 49.8 percent in September, reported Xinhua News. The PMI, which shows manufacturing activity, rose to 49.8 percent in September, ending 4 consecutive months of decline. In October, the sub-index for new orders edged up 0.6 percentage points from a month before to 50.4 percent. The output sub-index rose 0.8 percentage points from September, standing at 52.1 percent. It is worth noting that a reading above the 50-percent figure on the PMI indicates expansion, whereas a reading below 50 shows contraction.
