Azerbaijan Devises Special Digital Map For COP29

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. A digital map helping to find the newly created venues around the Baku Olympic Stadium was devised in connection with COP29, Ilkin Javadov, head of visitor services at the COP29 Azerbaijan Operational Company told reporters, Trend reports.

He noted that work on creating specific navigation solutions is ongoing both outside the city and at the COP29 venue itself.

"Thus, a large number of temporary structures have been erected around the event location, specifically on the grounds of the Baku Olympic Stadium. These facilities will house conference rooms.

Right at the stadium entrance, participants will be able to use this digital map to easily navigate from point A to point B and find any conference room with ease," Javadov added.

This November, Azerbaijan will host COP29. This decision was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11 last year.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an agreement signed at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 to prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system. COP-the Conference of the Parties-is the highest legislative body overseeing the implementation of the Framework Convention on Climate Change. There are 198 countries that are parties to the Convention. Unless the parties agree otherwise, the COP is held annually. The first COP event took place in March 1995 in Germany's Berlin with its secretariat in Bonn.
