India Navy Rescues A Sri Lankan And Three Indians From Capsized Vessel Off Oman


(MENAFN- NewsIn) Colombo, July 18: The Indian navy deployed warship INS Teg, rendering assistance for the capsized Oil Tanker MV Prestige Falcon, has rescued 09 (08 Indians and 01 Sri Lankan personnel.

MV Prestige Falcon had capsized about 25 Nautical Miles south east of Ras Madrakah, Oman, on 15 Jul 2024 and Search and Rescue efforts in coordination with Oman Authorities are in progress since 16 Jul 24.

The vessel is reported to have had a total of 16 crew, including 13 Indians and 03 Sri Lankans.

The Search and Rescue by Indian & Omani assets is being undertaken in challenging weather conditions as the area is experiencing rough sea & strong winds.

The India Navy's Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft P8I is also assisting in the search for survivors.
