Russia imposes travel restrictions on UK officials in response to hostile actions

(MENAFN) On Monday, Russia announced the inclusion of several UK officials on its "stop list" in a retaliatory move against what it deemed as hostile actions by the British side. The Russian Foreign Ministry revealed that an unspecified number of officials, journalists, and experts had been added to the list, citing their roles in formulating and implementing London's anti-Russian policies, perpetuating misinformation, and fostering Russophobia.

The Foreign Ministry's statement highlighted that the targeted individuals encompassed local politicians involved in shaping the UK's adversarial stance towards Russia, journalists accused of spreading falsehoods and anti-Russian sentiments, as well as experts who portrayed socio-political events in Russia inaccurately and negatively.

Furthermore, Russia condemned the UK's purported efforts to discredit and isolate Moscow on the international stage, vowing to deliver a robust response to such actions. The ministry asserted that any attempts by the UK to undermine Russia's reputation and diplomatic standing would be met with decisive and uncompromising countermeasures.

By imposing travel restrictions on UK officials and other individuals deemed complicit in antagonistic actions against Russia, Moscow signaled its readiness to confront perceived acts of hostility and safeguard its national interests. The tit-for-tat measures underscored the escalating tensions between Russia and the UK, exacerbating diplomatic strains and further complicating bilateral relations between the two countries.
