MP Administers Oath For Meerut's GDP Quadrupling, MCF Inks Mou With SBI To Boost MSME Clusters


(MENAFN- KNN India) Meerut, Jan 12 (KNN) In an unprecedented development, business and industry leaders of Meerut took an oath to collectively work together to quadruple the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Meerut, on Thursday.

The oath of solidarity was administered by MP Meerut Rajendra Agrawal in a well-attended meeting at Hotel Broadway, organised by Meerut Citizens Forum (MCF).

“It is a historic day for Meerut when all the leaders of the business and industry community pledged their support for quadrupling the GDP of Meerut”, said Agrawal.

"A steering committee has been formed consisting of MP, MLA, Mayor, DM, Municipal Commissioner, VC (MDA), CDO, representatives of FISME and MCA,” he added.

The meeting was organised by MCF following a study, conducted by economist and former senior advisor of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Manak Singhi, titled 'Study for Identifying Strategies for Quadrupling Meerut's GDP'.

A detailed action plan to quadruple the GDP of Meerut was presented by the Secretary General of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), which was a partner in conducting the study.

On the occasion, the State Bank of India (SBI) also signed an MoU with MCF to assist Meerut-based MSME clusters. The MoU was signed by Abhishek Singhal on behalf of MCF and by Raj Kumar Singh, DGM on behalf of SBI.

Speaking about the collaboration, Singh said,“We are excited to work closely with MCF and its partners in the industrial and services clusters in Meerut to understand their specific financial needs and develop financial products to fulfill those needs. This partnership aligns with our commitment to foster economic growth and innovation at the grassroots level.”

MP Meerut also announced Working Groups Chairmen for Industry, Services, Agriculture, Institutional Reforms, and Education.

Coordinators of the Industry working group will cover more than 12 clusters and services 6, the names of which were also announced during the meeting.
